EVENT: Upcoming ISL Parenting Seminar with Freerk Ykema on “Raising Boys”

This is a timely reminder that the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) are holding their 4th Parent Seminar of the year on Thursday 24th March. This event is not to be missed as special guest speaker Freerk Ykema – founder and author of the world renowned “Rock and Water Program” – will be there to present his seminar entitled “Raising Boys”.

Freerk Ykema, is a Dutch educationalist, who has developed a unique programme using a psycho-physical approach to learning called “Rock and Water”. This youth programme is composed of games, simple self-defence, boundary and communication exercises and is based on a strong notion of promoting self-confidence, awareness of purpose and motivation in life for adolescents. To understand more about the guiding principles behind “Rock and Water”, please click on this documentary video here.

The seminar aims to bring awareness to parents, that in enhancing the social, emotional and spiritual development of their children by utilising personal strengths and abilities, will help them to ultimately thrive and live together harmoniously in a changing, multicultural society. Please note that if possible, children are being asked to attend this worthwhile evening with their parents. However the title of the seminar is not representative of the content of the talk, as Freerk will be sharing his strategies and wealth of knowledge in raising both boys AND girls. Therefore parents with their daughters are also highly recommended to participate too.

This is likely to be a very popular seminar, so please email the organiser Lou Gervais at lgervais@islux.lu to reserve your seat. The event starts at 6.45pm and will be held at the Upper School Auditorium of the International School of Luxembourg (36, boulevard Pierre Dupong, L-1430 Luxembourg). If you have any further questions please contact Lou also at the same address.
