What is Autogenic Training and Feldenkraise?
Autogenic Training (AT) is an intriguing and impactful technique. AT leverages the power of the mind to influence the body. The concept of passive concentration is particularly interesting, as it allows one to engage deeply in the process without exerting forceful effort. Instead, you immerse yourself in the practice, of consciously relaxing the central nervous system through repeated, specific commands, gently guiding your mind and body to a state of tranquility and can indeed lead to reduce stress and enhanced feeling in of inner peace.
The Feldenkrais Method is a somatic practice that brings us back to learning through movement — our primary language of discovery. Through structured, gentle and mindful exploration of movement patterns, it helps your reorganize connections between the brain and body, improving both physical movement and psychological state. By harnessing our brain’s neuroplasticity, we can create new neural pathways at any age and access our entire nervous system, retraining it to function more efficiently. This practice helps release accumulated tension and stress, while developing greater coordination and flexibility – creating a sustainable foundation of self-nourishment that also replenishes your capacity to care for others.
